Back to the co-creation workshops on the theme of LGBTI inclusion

On Tuesday, May 7, the fourth workshop on the theme of the inclusion of LBGTI people was held. The workshop was the last of the cycle launched in October with the aim of collaboratively reflecting on ways for organisations to take gender identity and sexual orientation into account in their diversity policy.

Organised by IMS Luxembourg, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy, ULESS and 6zero1 as part of the Partners with Impact project, the various sessions brought together some thirty participants in a spirit of co-creation. Private companies, public bodies and expert associations were present to devise concrete solutions and answer questions such as:

  • How can we raise awareness and convince as many people as possible of the importance of developing LGBTI-inclusive policies?
  • What actions should be implemented to ensure that each employee feels free to be himself in his organization?
  • How to highlight its commitment and initiatives in favour of diversity?....

Many tools, resources and concrete projects have been developed to provide organizations with keys and courses of action. Among these, we find for example:

  • Employee career paths and good practices at each stage of the employee's life
  • LGBTI Diversity Training Project
  • Inclusive job offer, communication tools,....

This last workshop was also the opportunity to officially communicate on the collaboration of IMS Luxembourg and the Diversity Charter with the Luxembourg Professional LGBT+Allies association inter-company network. Indeed, the network launched a year ago at the initiative of several companies and present since the beginning of the cycle, has proposed to take the initiatives collectively imagined beyond the workshop cycle.

In particular, the association is developing training for private and public organisations in order to raise awareness and train them in the theme of the inclusion of LGBTI people.

The contribution of each of them has so far made it possible to model solutions adapted to the Luxembourg situation and to collect resources that make it possible to tackle the subject of LGBTI inclusion in a concrete way. However, challenges remain to be met following these four workshops and everyone is encouraged to continue the collective work, individually within their organization, but also in collaboration with other actors in order to multiply its impact.
